BCM2017 Korea Documentary Festival
1. OBJECTIVE
The objective of this event is to plan domestic (Korean-made) documentaries to help domestic broadcast contents to advance into foreign markets and to offer producers a direct opportunity to pitch to
foreign investors and distributors.
2. Event venue
Period : on May 11 to 12, 2017
Place : Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (Bexco) (3rd floor) Room 311, the meeting of the first exhibition
3. Promotion plan for each event
SELECTION OF PROJECTS –
Preferred subjects for selection are works having a high level of completion and strong potential to become international joint productions.
* For the area of overseas expansion and joint productions, only projects from producers and small and medium-sized broadcasting companies will be selected.
DOCS LAB –
Online tutoring and mock pitches from foreign global pitching professionals will be provided to those involved in projects to be pitched for possible selection. This represents an opportunity to
enhance the global marketing capacity of individuals in the domestic business.
(1) ONLINE TUTORING: April 18 (Tue) 16:00~20:00/ Online tutoring by foreign professionals provided on an individual per-project basis
- Producers receive coaching from tutors via video conference
(2) MOCK PITCHING: May 10 (Wed) 10:50~15:50 / Skills training for pitching provided through mock pitches by foreign professionals
PITCHING –
Pitching opportunity targeting foreign investors, distributors, and broadcasting companies, aimed at encouraging international joint productions and securing a sustainable global network
- Date : 5.11(Thu) ~ 5.12(Fri) 09:40~12:00
- Pitches targeting decision-makers in the domestic market and Asian region, aimed at activating international joint productions and attracting investment
* A total of 16 invitees, including 12 from overseas and 4 from the domestic Korean market.
BIZ MATCHING –
Contact opportunity between decision-makers and producers, aimed at substantive consultation and investment; matching support is aimed at progression of international joint productions, investment
consulting, and creation of substantive achievements

- Info : Proceed 1:1 Biz Matching with Directors and Decision makers from home and abroad
BEST PITCHING AWARD will be selected by judges includes Science, ICT and future planning Minister Award(5 million won/approx.$4,500 US) and Award from the chief of KCA(3 million won/approx. $2,700 US)
NETWORK DINNER
Formal dinner and time for networking allows project participants and decision-makers to mingle together
